16 members of Ely Walking Group, together with 4 well behaved dogs, enjoyed a 6 1/2 mile walk in the winter sunshine. Starting at a frosty Santon Downham, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, they then used paths along the Little Ouse River, through Thetford Warren forest and stopped halfway at High Lodge in the forest for a hot drink. Revived, they followed paths to the outskirts of Brandon and there they turned and made their way back to Santon Downham.
The Group are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and their proud boast is that it’s never cost their members a penny! The next walk is Sutton on Sun 6th Feb and the leaders are Peter & Trish 01353 777626 For more details go to: www.freewebs.com/elywalkinggroup you can also email; firstname.lastname@example.org or phone; David Kirby 01353 667286.
