Pies, Pints and Puddings – the 3 P’s come to The Ship Inn, Brandon Creek

The Ship Inn at Brandon Creek has been successfully run by Father & Son hosts, Keith and Mark Thomas for nearly 5 years, serving their numerous Great & Little Ouse river customers and those residents from the main A10 corridor between Ely and Kings Lynn. They have now decided it is time for a renewed focus and a change of direction with their menus. They have achieved acclaim 2 years running as national runners-up in the “Free From” eating out awards. Keith, as a diagnosed Coeliac, has always insisted that the whole menu was available Gluten Free and now there are regular customers from all over East Anglia coming to eat with the confidence they can safely eat the full menu range, which is made with non-gluten containing ingredients.

From 7th March 2017 however – the Chefs will be concentrating on producing a wide range of freshly baked, individual, Homemade PIES, served with vegetables and chips, mash or new potatoes. There will be an extensive, though unpredictable, variety of pies daily, dependent amongst other things upon available local fresh ingredients, the Chefs own ingenuity and of course ultimately, what the customers have not already chosen from any particular days baking – “so get there early to avoid disappointment”. You can expect a variety of (around 10) meat, fish, vegetarian and exotic & seasonal, freshly cooked pies every day.

If pies are not your style, then there will still be a limited choice of other favourites such as Fish & Chips and on Sundays – a traditional Roast with all the trimmings and of course our children’s choices. Importantly – everything will continue to be made using Non-Gluten Containing Ingredients, so that the many valued customers looking to eat Gluten Free, will not be disappointed. In fact surely they will be excited to have access to Gluten Free pies. All other allergens can be catered for with minimal advance notice.

You know the saying. “If something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly”.

A pie is definitely worth doing properly. Don’t forget to book – especially at weekends – 01353 676228.

Those river users amongst you, may or may not be aware that our Little Ouse riverbank was completely re-built by the Environment Agency Contractors last summer, so we now have 150m of pristine free moorings along the bank. With ample car parking as well, you will always be made to feel very welcome at The Ship with its selection of Pies, Real Ales and Puddings!!
