We’ve had a busy and exciting year at the Adams Heritage Centre, we began with organising and displaying some of our beautiful, memorabilia whilst encountering some surprising hidden finds tucked away. Our centre is open to visitors on Tuesdays between 2pm – 4pm, with wheelchair access.
Our market’s Christmas Special will be hosting an array of delicious produce on the 1 December, 9am – 1pm. Raffle tickets are being sold now to WIN a tasty selection box comprising an item from each of our stallholders.
In November we marked 100 years Remembrance Day and asked the communities of Littleport to make poppies for our special window display.
The local schools got involved and produced some amazing pieces which were joined together to make one big poppy ring.
In September we celebrated our market’s 3rd anniversary seeing an increase of customers. Every 1st Saturday of each month 9am – 1pm we open our doors and host an abundance of local produce which include meat, honey, cakes, jams, chutneys, vegetables, bread, flowers and pastries. We introduced Pop Up Stalls for those wishing to give us a go which are ideal for small, new food businesses or as alternative promotional outlet.
In May we held our open weekend displaying local history and commemorating special events. We met 70 visitors and plan to hold another next year.
In April Timebank and the Littleport Crafters were busy making red, white and blue Poms Poms for VE Day and the Royal Wedding, our centre looked beautiful alongside the many other shops down Main Street.
In March we welcomed the PortRocks who organised a cheerful Easter window display, showing all the amazing rock creations the children had designed.
In January The Field Theatre Group started their Button Tree Project, many hours and months were spent developing this memorial project which looked amazing once completed.
Our centre is available to small community groups with our main window available to hire. If you’re interested to find out more please email us @ adamsheritagecentre@gmail.com
