As we have been living through a summer of uncertainty it is good to see how all the international networks of Lions Clubs have been coming together to help our local communities. Lions clubs have been funding food banks and providing support all around the world. We have been funding our local food bank. Also, recently we have started doing quizzes as well as games on Zoom to raise money for charity. As lock down has been easing we have endeavoured to have socially distanced meet ups within government guidelines. We have been urging everyone to be kind and adhere to government rules so we can all return to normal quickly. It is inspiring to watch all the Lions Clubs come together to support their communities in these challenging times.
I would like to congratulate Lion Jenny Ellis for being given an award by the Lions Club of Littleport for recruiting new members. Jenny is a wonderful member of our club who continues to make everyone feel welcome. She always goes the extra mile to help the community too. During Christmas she was an absolute star when we visited Anchor Court in Littleport before Christmas to sing festive songs and share tea and cake with the residents. During a brief visit to the Norfolk Broads recently I was reminded of the importance of Lions Clubs, where I spotted a social club and charity shop set up for the community of Wroxham by the Lions Club. Lions Club for me is an organisation which is open to all to help the community. Please do get in touch if we can help the community during these challenging times, our e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.
