The Team at Littleport Leisure Welcome You! Back to Class

As you know from reading our article in the previous Littleport Life magazine we re-opened our doors to welcome you all back on the 1st August. We are pleased to say that many familiar faces have returned to resume their fitness regime. We have also welcomed many new faces and new friendships have been formed.

We pride ourselves as always on the importance of maintaining a clean and safe environment especially during these difficult times. There is nothing more pleasing than hearing your views on how we are achieving this:

  • “Very clean, I feel really safe” – Jo
  • “Great use of space in the three rooms” – Louise
  • “I feel safer coming to the Gym than I do going to the local shops” – Sophie H
  • “I was worried to come back but feel there’s lots of space and it’s so clean” – Mark
  • “The best Gym around” – Sophie T

We know that we are doing all that we should be to follow the current government guidelines but it is always nice when this is noticed by our members and for them to take the time to tell us.

So now you feel comfortable in the Gym environment why not come back and try our classes? These are all held in spacious rooms, some outside and social distancing is maintained throughout. Here is a brief description of what each class entails so that you can easily find the best class to suit your needs:

Hiit – Wednesday 6:00pm to 6:30pm – £3.50
Hiit has many different forms but essentially involves a period of working hard, followed by a period of much lower intensity or complete rest. Bodyweight exercise features heavily in Hiit classes as do weighted exercises. Hiit can help to increase fat burn, improve stamina and you could become fitter than ever. This is a short, sharp burst of exercise with the class lasting 30 minutes.

Bootcamp – Tuesday’s and Fridays 10:30am to 11:15am – £6.00
Bootcamps combine strength and cardio exercises for a full-body burn. The class is generally held outdoors and it will get your heart pumping, make you sweat and challenge your muscles. The bootcamp is in a similar style to Hiit but the workouts are longer and there is more of a rest period between rounds.

Circuits – Thursday 6:00pm to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 8:00pm – £6.00
Circuit training is a fast-paced class in which you do one exercise for 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Normally you would then move to another work station, but under the current guidelines each participant is given their own area with all the equipment they need, within it. Your core piece of equipment will be either a cross Trainer, a Bike or a Rowing Machine. Circuits help you to learn new exercises which will challenge your body. They help to increase your strength and aerobic fitness while burning lots of calories. The sessions may differ each week and core sessions may be added.

Yoga – Friday 10:30am to 11:30am – £6.00
Our Yoga class is for beginners, intermediate’s and the advanced. Yoga is a safe and effective form of exercise to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance. You will learn how to stretch and tone your whole body. You will be taught relaxation techniques to help deal with stress, to help you think more clearly and to improve your mental wellness, as well as helping with your overall health and fitness.

Boogie Bounce – Returning soon
Boogie Bounce is a complete exercise programme completed on a mini trampoline. You begin with a cardio section, followed by a toning section which works your bums, tums and thighs. Every muscle in your body is worked, even the facial muscles. Boogie Bounce uses techniques to maximise the most effective fat burning process in the cardio section, whilst using the pliable surface of the mat to perform a range of core stability exercises. This class has many health benefits such as;

  • Full Body Workout
  • Massive calorie burn and weight loss
  • Relieves stress and increases metabolism
  • Low impact on joints and ligaments
  • Reduces cellulite
  • Suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes

If after reading this article you are still unsure about taking that step and returning to class, please know that you are more than welcome to call in and we will gladly show you our current layout. We totally understand the apprehension that some people feel and sometimes it is better to see for yourself. All we ask is that you call 01353 373800 to book a time which is convenient for both parties.
