Where There’s a NEED, There’s a LION

Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.

The World’s Largest Service Club Organisation

Our 46,000 clubs and 1.4+ million members make us the world’s largest service club organisation. We’re also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

Where There’s a NEED, There’s a LION

When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve.

In over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior centres, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centres, Lions are doing community volunteer work, helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we’re local, we can serve the unique needs of the communities we live in. And because we’re global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders.

We want everyone to see a better tomorrow.

That’s why we support sight programmes and services including vision screenings, eye banks and eyeglass recycling. Provide eye care services to those at risk of losing their sight. And raise donations through campaigns like SightFirst and Campaign SightFirst II.

We believe everyone deserves a healthy life.

From providing Health Programmes that focus on hearing loss to supporting efforts to control and prevent diabetes, Lions volunteers are working to improve the health of children and adults around the world.

We empower the next generation.

Whether it’s providing youth volunteer opportunities and leadership experiences in a Leo club or sharing a message of peace through our Peace Poster contest, our Youth programmes invest in the future by reaching out to young people.

We serve local communities – and protect the planet.

From performing hands-on community work and service projects to providing emergency assistance, our community and environment programmes improve our communities – and protect the environment.

We are among the first to respond when disaster strikes.

Our Disaster Preparedness and Relief Programmes enable Lions to help local communities – and contribute to Lions relief efforts in other countries – in the event of a natural, man-made or healthcare emergency.

Now you know what we do, go and join a local Lions Club…

Taking a look back at the winter festivities as we look forward to spring!

Father Christmas came and made a special appearance at Littleport Lions Clubs Breakfast with Santa at The Almonry, Ely on 22nd, 23rd and 24th Dec.

Over 210 people came to the event and had a great time. After their breakfast Santa came and gave every child a present. Our photo shows some of the children with Santa.
