The Littleport village sign was donated by the Littleport WI back in 2001. Replacing the original sign also given to the village in 1984 to commemorate the WI’s 75th anniversary, this one is made of good British Oak. Sculpted by Jeremy Turner it has scenes depicting Littleport’s history and associated interests – from the Riot, Hope Brothers factory, to the direction to Welney!
WI Programme Secretary Cynthia Leggat volunteered to spruce it up before winter set in with a good clean and varnish and volunteered her husband Andy for the strenuous job too!
