At the October meeting we had a Manager from Sainsbury’s Supermarket who gave a very interesting talk covering a wide area of how the stores are run, products etc, and how very pleased the company was to now have a store in Ely.
Many questions were asked and answered and sample of bread and cheese from their selection were tasted and enjoyed. In November we enjoyed our Pudding Night where members brought their favourite puddings for all to try with the recipes available if you so wished. So many delicious puds we were all … We also held a Bring and Buy Sale which was very well supported and which raised valuable funds.
December saw us enjoying a Christmas party with the food supplied by our members. There was so much and such a wide variety. Thank you to all who helped make this a success. Pam Hayes gave us a brilliant demonstration of Flower Arrangements for Christmas. These beautiful arrangements were then donated to our Raffle which proved very popular and helped our funds no end.
Over the coming year we have many Speakers and Demonstrations booked. Details of these are awaiting on request. 2015 is also the Centenary of the Women’s Institute and there will be various events taking place both nationally and locally. W.I.
