Welcome!
20106 – 2016! Yes, welcome to this, the 40th issue of Littleport Life. This 10 year anniversary coincides with the 200th anniversary of the Littleport Riots. There are commemorative initiatives taking place in the village that should interest everyone who now lives here – and in this edition of your magazine you can find information about planned special events from the MCC363, to the Rotary and Parish Council.
Of course, all the usual events hosted by the many and various groups in Littleport will be continuing to offer good things to do with any spare time you may have, and new groups are also springing up that you may like to join in with that are featured in this issue of Littleport Life.
On your behalf, the team that voluntarily put together your community magazine, would like to thank all our advertisers whose money collectively ensures that we can actually print Littleport Life every quarter.
Over the 40 issues there has been a small surplus accumulated, and at our last editorial meeting we all decided to give a gift of money in tribute to the hard work of one of Littleport Life’s founders, Ms Sue Summerside, who sadly died after devoting many years to the organisation of Littleport Life.
Safe to say that without Sue Summerside’s huge input, the magazine would not be the publication it is today. Her husband Alan Summerside who was also on the Littleport Life team for many years, chose the Millfield School’s ‘Buddy Bench’ to be the recipients. A ‘Tribute to Sue Summerside’ written by past Littleport Life editor Linda Watson who worked alongside Sue from its beginning is on page 98.
Don’t forget you can find us online at www.littleportlife.co.uk courtesy of our highly skilled webmaster, Christian Mayne of www.watchthedot.com (for all your web construction and design needs) and on social media on our Facebook page, Littleport Life.
We hope you enjoy this 40th edition and that this Spring quarter is a good one for you – and our great village, Littleport.

Editor, Littleport Life
