The WI held its AGM in November 2016. After the annual report and treasurers report for the year ending 2016, the vote was taken for the coming year’s committee. The president and secretary wished to retire, and so this was attended to first, although they were both willing to remain on the committee. The new president was then voted in. Rosemary Coleman is now president and Linda Whytock is the new secretary.
Ms G Crawford also retired and Ms D Tooke will replace her.
The 2017 programme was set and looks to be very interesting with talks and demonstrations, including The history of the National Stud at Newmarket, The life of Lord Fairhaven, Cup Cakes with a difference! And lots more.
2016 ended with the December meeting and a ‘Bring and Share’ supper with entertainment by the Breckland Hand Bells. Some members had a go at bell ringing, which was very entertaining. This was followed by carol singing.
In January we visited the beautiful country of Australia with the help of Tony Bridgstock and his film of their Trip. February was, as always, our annual Quiz Night competing for the Linda Harvey Salver.
