Alzheimer’s Research UK had a nationwide promotion to support their ‘Mighty Quiz’ campaign to raise much needed money to finding a cure for this terrible disease. The Timebank received a pack and got stuck in!
With support from local fish and chip shop ‘The Codfather’ via Timebank members Cathy and Fiona, we were able to hold the quiz at Adams Heritage Centre and 16 members came to raise funds to test the little grey cells.
We had teams ‘Billy No mates’, ‘Quizzie Rascals’, ‘Dim Wits’, ‘No Hopers’ and ‘Also Appearing’ competing for the prize. It was tense, there were complaints, and activity in the ‘Challenge Round’ where each team had to make an outfit out of tin foil, bin liner, newspaper and sticky tape. In the end, the Quizzie Rascals consisting of Jo, Keith and Millie snatched the prize by 4.5 points! We raised £50 with £20 donated by the Codfather with thanks also to Adams’ for use of the centre.
