On May 13th tireless founder and organiser of Littleport’s youth initiative ThePort was presented with the accolade ‘Citizen of the Year’ by the Parish Council at its annual general meeting in the Village Hall.
Joanne Coe is much admired and loved by all the youngsters that she helps by providing the weekly activities and special events throughout the year.
Joanne said “The constant support I have received from the community and particularly from parish councillors Christine and David Ambrose Smith and Joanne and Clive Webber is very much appreciated.
I am absolutely honoured and delighted to have been awarded Citizen of the Year!”
Last year Joanne was recognised in the Ely Hero Awards, a finalist of 3 nominated for the Ely Hero title, and Joanne Coe, Citizen of the Year Award at the parish council meeting May 13th 2019 received the Community Champion Award on June 25, 2018.
In 2017 Joanne was the recipient of Police Commissioner Jason Ablewhite’s certificate of recognition for her work with young people supported by funding from his department.
Littleport must be very proud and grateful too for the dedication and hard work undertaken voluntarily for the benefit of the youth of the village by Joanne Coe.
