John and Alison Bushe the friendly proprietors of Camelot Creature Comforts, the pet, poultry and equine provision vendors are a hard working pair who run this family business catering for the needs of all kinds of animals. They stock a vast range of pet food, accessories and supplies which you can also buy in bulk and get value for money.
As well as other fund-raising efforts, like the annual fun dog show that this summer just gone raised nearly £700, they hold a monthly raffle that raises much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, an organisation dear to their heart. Alison’s mother, once an active top bowls player is living with the disease and is looked after at home by her family. The couple’s suppliers generously donate all the super goodies that go into the prize hampers every month, and tickets are available to buy and enter the prize draw from the shop for just £1.
The shop is located a couple of hundred yards up Hale Fen when you turn off the bypass almost opposite the end of Camel Road. If you’re coming through the village, when you get to the end of Camel Road it’s a right and then a fairly sharp left across the A10.
