MCC 363 set up to honour those who participated in the Littleport Riots of 1816 are holding a special 200th anniversary at The Crown Pub in Littleport on Saturday 7th May 2016. The Crown of course was one of the three pubs within a store’s of each other – the Globe (now the Co-op) and George and Dragon (now a private hone) so a very appropriate venue.
The road will be closed for the usual display of previous bikes – particularly the iconic Harley Davidson brand whose founder’s dad was born down the road from the Crown. Loads of stalls selling crafts, jewellery, clothes and other goodies in the pub car park with 7 bands rocking the day and night away.
Mark Robinson, genial head of the Club says: “Music in all genres – not just heavy metal.” Mark added: “Face painting and bouncy castle for the kiddies and at least one fair ride.”
As well as the bikes some American cars will put in an appearance, with BBQ food and other food vendors too. There is a raffle because this is a charity event in total – with locally brewed ale available. “A one-off”, says Mark, and flying the flag for Britain – a Spitfire will fly past during the day.
