Littleport Rotary have been engaged in providing some 50,000 Crocuses which have been planted by Rotarians & school children in Littleport and Little Downham

Thousands of primary and secondary school pupils were planting the purple crocus bulbs in October as part of a project by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) to stamp out polio across the globe.

The Grow Your Own Crocus project was launched by the RIBI to help educate children about — a crippling disease that kills and paralyses young children. The purple crocus symbolises the purple dye that is painted on the fingers of children to show they have been immunised.
