The 363MCC, set up in honour of the Littleport Rioters of 1816, 5 of whom were hanged, are always in the forefront of doing good deeds for others.
A rather overcast day in May was made much brighter when the annual ‘Crowning Around’ bikers event took place at the Crown Inn, courtesy of landlord Rob.
There were rock bands and DJ’s playing music from the start at 11 am until late night.
Stalls of every kind of interest to biking enthusiasts were set up; and face-painting and a food van were both very busy too. As were the other fast food take-away shops in Littleport. There was plenty of custom to go round.
There was a successful auction, and a raffle of course going towards the total amount raised by the event in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and local charities.
The World War 2 Spitfire flew over at 13.25 hours, heralded by an air-raid siren and wing waved farewell as the single note of the ‘all clear’ died away.
The event was supported by Sharman’s Garden Centre in Camel Road, the Crown Garage, Big Cat Audio and Cre8ive Faces!
363MCC president Mark Robinson said afterwards: “A massive thank you to the 363MCC members and friends who worked at Crowning Around Bike Show yesterday making it a massive success. Also, thanks go out to those who donated items to the raffle and auction. Thanks to all the stall holders too. Huge thanks to all the bands that played. You are all truly amazing and we stand in awe in your presence every time. Thanks to all the bar staff of the Crown, you did an excellent job. Thanks to the RAF for the spectacular Spitfire fly past. Lastly a massive, massive thanks, to everyone who attended the show. Big, big love going out to you all!”
