The Club has progressed well this year with some very interesting Demonstrators who have all brought a different dimension to the art of flower arranging.
We are beginning to interest a few more people who have joined as members and who assure the Club they are enjoying the different aspects of flower arranging that are being demonstrated to us all. This is encouraging for the committee and gives us all a sense of purpose to keep this wonderful Club going into the future.
Taking a look back at the summer, at our June meeting we had the return of Brenda Tubb, who gave another inspirational demonstration, and once again, as is always the case with Brenda, the village hall was full of laughter from her wonderful sense of humour and tales of her life in general. She did say that she always enjoys coming to the Club as we are so inviting and friendly and this always inspires her to bring along her sense of fun.
We didn’t meet in August, but on the 15th September Jo Pollard will be returning to Demonstrate and help us celebrate our 50th Anniversary as a Club. This is a great accolade for Littleport as so many NAFAS Clubs are having to close for lack of support for various reasons; mainly that Clubs are not able to get committee members to help keep clubs running. So we are very lucky that at present we have a brilliant committee, but we will need more volunteers for 2018 to step forward as we will be needing a new Programme Secretary and Secretary.
Visitors are always welcome to our meetings at a fee of £5, and anyone wishing to find out more about how the Club is run, should please contact the Chair, Pam Hayes, on 01353 860102 or the Secretary, Pam Sole, on 01353 863421.
