Saturday September 2 2017 marks the two-year anniversary of the opening of the Littleport Community Market at the Adams Heritage Centre in Main Street.
The market was one of the initiatives of Littleport Town Team’s first year Action Plan and its partnership with the Adams Heritage Centre introduced a much needed facility for Littleport’s town centre and supports the existing shops and businesses.
The market, run by volunteers, which is held on the first Saturday of each month, hosts a variety of local traders selling high quality products such as bread, cakes, cheese, pies, coffee, eggs, fruit, vegetables, meat and even probiotic cabbage!. This monthly event has done much to revitalise the town centre and increase footfall as well as raise awareness of Adams Heritage Centre.
The Heritage Centre creates the perfect backdrop for our traders and there is a real buzz each month as people come together to shop and have a catch up. We are very grateful to our loyal traders as well as customers so if you haven’t had a chance to pop along yet, we urge you to do so on any 1st Saturday of every month.
A birthday has been provided for the 2nd of September, and a raffle to win a hamper of goodies that was kindly donated by our wonderful traders.
This years’ birthday cake was kindly donated by one of our new traders – Just 4U Cakes. Owner Clair’Marie Mackness, who is based in Pymoor, has used her creative skills to portray the Adams Heritage Centre on one of her fabulous cakes. September is her first time at the market with her array of handmade cupcakes, cookies and healthy fruit bars.
