Bob Bowditch Reports on Littleport Football

LTFC are on the brink of a new season at Littleport. We currently have 6 teams ranging from under 8 to adult, playing in the Cambs Leagues, essentially grass roots football.

Unfortunately recently we have suffered in Littleport with a lack of volunteers , and coaches. It seems people are so busy today chasing around, there is less time to volunteer.

We were one of the largest clubs in Cambridgeshire with 3 adult teams and colts in every age group. Back in 1906 when LTFC was formed it is said that it took 10 years for the idea to materialise. Nonetheless we carry on providing football in the village, along with Rangers doing the same.

Littleport Rangers just like Littleport Town FC will also be playing their home games at Littleport Leisure. Their Secretary Katie Pendle is looking forward to the new season and as she told Littleport Life:

“The Colts team are now in the A league 11 v 11 playing their games on a Saturday, and we’ve taken on 2 teams with the Under 7’s run by Nathan Mitchell and David Morgan will be managing the Under 10 team.”
