Littleport & District Flower Arrangement Club

Since our AGM in February the Club has progressed forward with a few more new Members joining the Club in March.

Our new year of Membership started with Area Demonstrator Barbara Collins returning to us with her demonstration of ‘Joys of Spring’. As usual Barbara gave us a full evening of beautiful arrangements, design and flowers, Barbara’s personality shone through and a good evening started our year off well.

April saw Julie Woods with her designs of ‘After the Rain’ and a new Demonstrator to the Club Susan Horne came in May with her title of ‘Floral Mayhem’. A good evening with a new Demonstrator who will be asked to return.

An old favourite, Tim Meakin, returned to us in June and as ever Tim gave us a wonderful evening of ‘Having Fun with Flowers’ Tim is not a NAFAS Demonstrator but always gives an entertaining evening and a very fun evening was had by all.

Jacqui Aldous, an Area Demonstrator, returned to entertain us in July, Jacqui had not been with us for some years but proved she had lost none of her entertainment value with her title of ‘That’s Entertainment Act 3’. We will certainly not leave it so long to have her again.

Normally the Club has a break in August but this year we had a Workshop in the Village Hall on the 18th August from 10am to 3pm when Adele Kent, the Chair of JDS&E Committee of the East of England Area of NAFAS and an Area Demonstrator, came to tutor a group of 25 Members two designs that they later took home with them.

What a lovely happy day was had by everyone, it was so good also to have a Professional Tutor doing the Workshop, Adele worked her magic and even the basic beginners went away with two beautiful arrangements.

Everyone who went along said what a lovely day it had been, and please could we do it again. So hopefully another will be arranged next year.

The Club has enjoyed a good few months with good membership and many visitors, we do though need volunteers to come onto the Committee for the Club to progress further, so please if you think you could help in any way contact the Chair Pam Hayes on 01353 860102 and have a chat.
