ThePORT

Joanne Coe tells us about all the activities ThePort have enjoyed.

ThePORT Youth Group have been super busy over the last few months. We have been to visit residents at Laburnum Lodge, helping to decorate cakes and supported the Open day in August.

Youths have also been to The Grange several times helping to serve residents with treats. Weekly activities have continued, increasing during the Summer holidays with a very successful and thoroughly enjoyed day in Wembley at the X-Factor Auditions. Bounce Trampoline Park was also enjoyed by all.

National Citizen Service Students joined us in August to help run a cinema session at YPL for all ages. Students also visited Laburnum Lodge and made a huge difference in the community woodland gardens called Peacocks Meadow.

Moving forward, we expect an increase in numbers from September as the new Primary School Year 5 can join us weekly. Planning and provisions have been ongoing for several months.

We have had amazing support from the Sanctuary Group, The Rotary Club and many local residents who keep us topped up with newspaper, wool, glass items and craft materials. All staff and our youths would like to thank the community for their continued support.
