Littleport Judo News

Based at Littleport Leisure, the next couple of events are coming up quickly at Littleport Judo Club. In September the club are hosting The Eastern Area British Schools Regional Championships. This will be on Sunday the 15th of September. The regional schools events are a great build up to the national event held at the English Institute For Sport in Sheffield early in 2020, It is always great for the young judoka to represent their schools in contest judo. Always busy events – and finalists get priority entry to the national event – so get the entries in soon.

Then on October 27 the club are hosting a ‘Katame No Kata’ course. ‘Katame No Kata’ or ‘Forms of Grappling’ looks at judo groundwork techniques including holds, strangles, chokes and joint locks and is the second of the ‘Randori No Kata’ or ‘Forms of Free Practice’. An essential kata for all judoka looking to improve their judo technique and understanding. Suitable for all levels of judoka with or without previous kata experience aged from 12 years upwards and also with level 1-3 and junior (12-15 years) examination on offer for those with prior learning, suitable for technical grading requirements. This will be a fantastic day of judo learning not to be missed! 8.30 am for warm-up 9am start. Ends 4pm. £25 course fee. Led by 7th Dan and Kata Examiner Dave Horton-Jones.
