Littleport Town FC Colts’ teams were delighted to be able to return to training this summer, after several months off.
“It was great to see all the young people back together again. We’ve all really missed them – and watching them play,” says under-15s coach Chris Slatter.
The first week or so was a little different as contact football was not yet allowed, but from August the teams will have been able to play matches during training. They have also been playing a few friendly games too, just to warm them up for the next season.
Chris is keen to welcome new players – both to the established teams, which are the under-10s, under-15s, and under- 16s, and also to bring some younger players into Littleport Town, especially to help set up an academy for the budding young Jadon Sanchos out there.
“It’s going to take some time to get fully back into the swing of the new season, but the main thing is we’re back playing the game we all love,” says Chris.
