Littleport WI Embodies that War-Time Spirit

Through the pandemic WI members have been keeping in touch with each other by phone, new technology and Tuesday Zoom meetings, just chatting and offering help and support. With the current situation easing members are starting to meet up in small groups in gardens.

Lots of us have been busy learning new skills, how to use smart phones and tablets, a favourite pastime is talking to our family and friends on Face Time and Zoom.

We have also made use of our sewing skills to make PPE equipment for hospitals and nursing homes. Our small pieces of material have made many colourful masks.

We still receive a Federation News letter. This month told us of the imminent closure of the national Denman college. Mini courses at £5, funded for WI members, are available online, which members can access and pass on their ideas.

We are looking forward to planning for our centenary in 2022.

We do not know when we will be able to meet in the Village Hall, but in the meantime, we will continue to share our ideas.
