Littleport Peacock’s Meadow Update

Deb Curtis, Chair of the Friends of the Woodland Garden committee tells us about a great day in October!

The 14th October was a big day for volunteers in Peacocks Meadow, Littleport’s community woodland garden. An army of helpers turned out in glorious sunshine to lay a path and trim and tidy a huge amount of ground, in preparation for the siting of planters and benches.

An energetic group of Main St Co-op staff gave up their day to help, as did members of the Littleport Lions and Littleport & Ely Timebank; as well as a host of generous individuals who helped to lay the path. (Not forgetting the ladies who provided lunch and refreshments for all).

This path now provides enhanced access for wheelchair and buggy users.

The improvements have been funded by East Cambs District Council and Sanctuary Housing. And the path is just the first of the major planned enhancements to this lovely woodland space.
